Remember, one nomination per customer, no fake accounts please. Nominations will be open until the 15th this time.

I'll start the bidding with Kit Woolsey (and his wife), who has paid for the bulk of fibs costs for many years out of the kindness of his heart. Without him, who knows if fibs would still be here?

Biggles

I nominate Fergy who created the best FIBS client ever developed - MacFIBS...

Thanks Fergy.

Biggles
(The most popular Fibster)
Winner of the inaugural Master League Tournament and countless other league and mini-tournaments......

Tomawaky

I nominate Biggles one of the most well known players on Fibs
Tomawaky "I feel good da da da da da da da.........i knew that i would now........."

Shuggie

I nominate mookie.

Because at this very moment he has a gun to my head, and he does look like he's in a joking mood, so please vote for him or you know I may well not be here for the June awards.

Thanks

Shuggie
Don't hate me because I'm beautifull, just love me in that special way

I nominate Alef for starting the Improve Fibs Yahoo group and maintaining the fibs website, the picture website, the repbot website , the fibs archive, the postcard tournament, etc. etc.
The list goes on and on...

Kari_Grandi

I nominate Tomawaky. He's done a great job arranging leagues and tourneys for us many years now without making a big noise out of it.

resh_lakish

I nominate diane. She does a very good job with the tourneys and is a positive influence on fibs, even though she hates me.

KDP

i nominate patti, while the other people mentioned are all worthy candidates consider this:  without her there would for all practical purposes be no fibs, therefore no tournies to run, no place to play, no need for a website.  i know for the most part she gets more grief than  praise.  as "keeper of the flame" hers is an unglamorous, thankless job so to her i say    thank you for the job you do.

jinnate

i nominate burper, who first thought to ruin fibs with our beloved repbot.

I nominate Webrunner for his good job with the FIBS Board
Good job sweetie!~!  ;)

QuoteGiven to the individual or group (or bot) who has made outstanding contributations to the FIBS community.

If we're looking at who has been essential to FIBS existing then it has to be either Patti or Kit. However, when it comes to outstanding contribution I have say Fergy is the most deserving. I suspect the total time and energy he's put into MacFIBS is comparable to the rest of the nominees here all put together. It is beyond a slick piece of software, it's a masterpiece of its time. FIBS has always had many Mac users directly as a result of his work, and I credit MacFIBS as the main reason I got so hooked.

Additionally, Fergy gave the improveFIBS group a major boost and is still the only person besides Patti with access to the FIBS website. Each month he uploads the updated webpages I send to him. Thanks Fergy!

After Fergy though, I think the most oustanding contribution is gnubg. This is an example of an opensource project breaking new frontiers, and the vast majority of FIBS playing bots are based on it. I was tempted to nominate Gary Wong (who I believe started it?) but I'd rather nominate the bot itself since many, many people have worked hard to make it what it is today.

Hey, who stuck the poll on here? I thought nominations would be open until the 15th and then the voting would happen?

I'm guessing webrunner saw that there were many nominations and didn't remember or notice that there was a stated deadline for nominations. I've deleted the poll, since it should follow the rules -- my apologies to the two people who had already voted.

There where already 10 nominees.. and a poll can only have 10 choices..
So it is rather pointless to wait for more nominees since they can't participate anyway.

But hey.. sorry for thinking....  :stupid2:

oh, i didn't know there was a limit of 10.

alef

Communication breakdown, poll back up....

Let the voting commence!

Remember: if you view the results prior to voting you are voting "null" and can't vote later!

burper

Hmmm, tough choice this month.
I'll ammend the 10 nomination limit for next month.

I nominate myself for June.
