HURRA!

we are planing a german fibs party summer 2003!!
ein fibs-party in deutschland!

first we want to find out who might come ad where it should be best. if we are close to the border how about the Dutch(ies)

would you join us too?

Hi folks!

Very glad to hear that you're planning another party. I would certainly like to come: meet all of you in person, play some chouettes, maybe sell more of these t-shirts, and I haven't been to Germany in years...

My preference would be for Berlin simply because it's a city I've never been to and have always wanted to visit. Also flights are likely to be cheaper in late spring rather than full summer. But when ever/where ever you decide I'll try my best to be there.

It's good that you're planning it well in advance since there are a few globe trotting Fibsters who might be able to work it into other travels. As soon as dates and venue are decided I'll post it on the website.

ok, things work out a bit. as far as i can see there are two preferences for the best place to have the party:

a) berlin

somewhere in the west (cologne))

a) for obvÃƒÂous reasons (big, interesting, international reachable);

for most fibster around.

sieht so aus als wÃƒÂ¤ren zwei orte favorisiert fÃƒÂ¼r die party
a) berlin

westen (kÃƒÂ¶ln oder so)

i will set up a mailing list place and maybe we can discuss this and vote the next days

i just set up a group at yahoo for the party to make mail-exchange easier. if you want to join tell me. but group language will be german....

I don't mind if you put German in here, as long as i can keep putting my stuff in English or Dutch.

If you want i can create a seperate German forum (like FIBS-NL).
Just post here if you would like that. I would need a moderator that moderates the forum for i can't read German that well.

ein FIBS-Treffen in Deutschland...find ich toll.
Wenn die FIBS-Party in Frankfurt oder Umgebung steigt (- nee, Berlin zÃƒÂ¤hlt nicht
mehr dazu), werde ich alles versuchen, um mit von der Partie zu sein.
Auch auf die Gefahr hin, daÃƒÅ¸ einige Illusionen zerstÃƒÂ¶rt werden kÃƒÂ¶nnten -
(Blotman - den habe ich mir immer ganz anders vorgestellt - so groÃƒÅ¸, blond, blauÃƒÂ¤ugig...Mordillo-MÃƒÂ¤nnchen trifftÃ,Â´s eher) - da wÃƒÂ¼rde ich doch glatt mal
mein geliebtes Saarland fÃƒÂ¼r ein paar Stunden verlassen um live FIBSters zu sehen
...und wie man richtig Backgammon spielt.

some update about the party-planning for international fibsters

currently we are having a poll about where the party should be located.

it looks like a close race between frankfurt/m. and berlin. the poll will be closed 20th of februar and we will anounce the "winner" then.

for the date, LisaS's idea about having it the last may/first june weekend (30. 5. - 1.6) seems to be common sense now so you can mark this in your calender allready.

alef suggested also that the party should be called "european fibs party" as might be the only one in europe this year. well - maybe there will be another dutch one so i don't know yet

so much for today - i will keep you updated

I've bought my flight. I'll be arriving in Frankfurt Friday May 30th in the early evening and leaving on the Sunday afternoon. First time I've travelled abroad for a backgammon event!

Last year was very nice....so i will try to come this year again( favorit reason is to meet Lisa ;-))) )

Hope i have the Time, i open a little tavern next weeks here . (FIBSters are welcome ) There would be a lot of work.......but Hell emergenys the tavern is closed for one day ;-))

good idea ! I think the area of cologne or duesseldorf would be a good place for a fibsters party. It is close to the netherlands and belgium and there are very good traffic connections also.

I will join the party if the date is ok.
