Howdy,

I'm a virgin poster, recently coming re-interested in the game after many years of not playing. My goals are to become a better player, and to eventually play with very good players.

I downloaded Monte Carlo BG, and after playing 70+ games have been able to stay slightly ahead of this program. My question is what should be the next logical step towards better and more challenging play.

I haven't yet gotten to any of the Pay-to-play programs. As I understand, these are still evolving. At this time, I have no serious players to play with.

Suggestions and advice are appreciated.

Have you logged into fibs yet?

Download javafibs...available here..

Create the nick lone_rider [dont think it is taken], and log in...you can play fun players, serious players and very serious players. there are also leagues and tournaments to pick up some very good opponents for slightly raised stakes [admiration, not cash  ;) ]

The site is free to use, but be aware of the pitfalls, that as a free site, it also has none serious players.  Read around this board for the tips and hints to avoid droppers.

Your other port of call should be here
