Triple_X is banned from this forum

I am sorry to say that for the first time i had to ban someone completely from Fibsboard.
This person is Triple_X, also known as Dracula.
His post continously gew more offending and now he also started to threaten me by email, accusing me of being  an al quaida member. He stated that he will try to put me out of business and that me (and diane, which apparently offended him too), will meat his wrath.
Apparantly he is mad with me because I didn't want to remove zoeboy's posts from "his " thread, as he requested. I told him this is a discussion board and everone can post anywhere. Post get edited when they are too offending or we move them when they are off topic. So I refused, and still do.
He has send me his telephone number wanting me to call him on this issue.  This is even more scary to me, but at least I now have his telephone number, assuming it is right of course.

I don't respond very well to physical threads. I do this for fun and don't like to be threatened or attacked like this. Since he also threatened to attack fibs, I send an email to Patti, just to keep her informed.

If he keeps this up, I will inform his internet provider about what he is doing.

Obviously the mix of star trek, steven segal, and house cats was too much.  These are all very powerful forces and obviously triple x was corrupted by the power.  I hope he detoxes and once again becomes a productive member of society.

I for one will miss his rambles which made me feel better about my own life.

I think you did absolutely the right thing (even if he does have a cute little kittie). The thread was mildly amusing to start with, but became downright inflammatory (not to say scary) with all the racist invective and other insults towards the end. Full support from me!

Full support. His threats are unpleasant, but unlikely to lead to anything tangible IMO. However, threatening language and incitement to racial hatred are criminal offences in most countries, on the net or IRL, so don't hesitate to use the police if you feel that matters may get serious.

I too agree with the banning - tho' I (might) consider his job offer. Generally I'm in favour of freedom of speech - even to racists and other sociopaths - let them express their own stupidity so all can (easily) see it . Few of them (fortunately) have the intellect of Hitler / Stalin etc and exposing themselves to public view they become easier (IMO) to fight. Still Fibs and Fibsboard are not places for such diatribes - they're places for FUN.

To end on a positive note :

We're at the dawning of a new age courtesy of the most important new medium since print (the internet obv) - anything which encourages global communication can only (again IMO) , longterm , be a force for good..

I too am for freedom of speech, although i believe there is a time and a place for everything, and this is not the place for stuff like that.

But actually it wasn't the racism etc. that made me decide to ban him but his threats against me and several other people. :angry:

I removed all copies of the same post (double posts) and banned the account made by that guy again.

I left one copy of the post on fibsboard for anyone to read, in case of being accused for censorship.
