Where's the BEEF!?!?  Here it is!  Sorry, my first instinct was to remove this post, which I did, but on 2nd and 3rd thought, I'm returning it to where, I believe, is it's rightful place.  I was always told a woman has the right to change her mind!   So, I'm doing it.

What on earth was this post removed for in the first place? Perhaps those who say that fibsboard moderators/TDs are afraid of free speech and criticism have a valid point! Surely there is nothing here to offend even a kindergarten?

Of these 100 players - 10 or so dominate the shouts with what is, basically, unrelated backgammon material.  Thats fine, it helps make FIBS interesting.  What annoys me - is that when a TD tries to use those same shouts for their intended purpose - and convey information about backgammon events to the 90 or so other players who might be interested - they find they run into trouble from the aforementioned 10 people.

I have never seen Kari try to 'control' shouts - the suggestion is preposterous - the events last week escalated from another player starting a tourney which overlapped with a long running regular tourney.  Kari asked that the TD not do that in future - a perfectly reasonable request - which was taken on board by the TD concerned.  This need not have grown into the row those 10 or so pushed it to.

All TDs - and most players have always agreed one tourney at a time is enough - since there is only one 'room' in FIBS.  No one actually involved in the tourney, regular or otherwise seemed to have a problem to me - the issues came from those who dont much enter these events (for whatever reason) - and the whole row was 'created' by those who have nothing better to do than fight.

So - perhaps you should go have a beer while a very popular event is taking place - and stop trying to make it harder work for those who simply try and lay on a little fun for the folks.

I started running tourneys because they are fun - and for everyone - yet those whose life purpose it seems to be to cause trouble have done so at every opportunity - and created this ill will.  Your post doesn't help!

Along the same lines of "MS Moderator", someone brought something to my attention today that I want to mention.  

Sometimes, when I am reading a post, and if I notice a typo or a misspelled word, I will correct it.  Sorry, I am an obsessive corrector.  I suspect I was an English teacher in one of my past lives.  I simply cannot resist.  I certainly hope no one is offended by this, and if you are, well, please accept my apology and tell me to FOAD.  That's what I would do.

Why can't people just accept things the way they are? In my short time on fibs, I have learned that it is greatly underregulated. There does not seem to be any moderation of any kind. Considering that this is a free service, there should be no complaints at all, yet people seem to expend a lot of time and energy attempting to regulate each other.

Whatever happens on fibs, happens. Learn to deal with it. If people whine, they whine. deal with that too. I am ot trying to regulate anyones' whining here, only offerring some free advice on how to be at peace on FIBS.

fibsboard also appears to be a free service, where the moderators do whatever they want. If you don't like it, leave. At least that seems to be their attitude. If they don't like a thread, they lock it. If they don't like your post, they will edit it, or perhaps even delete it? Its' their board, they can do what they want.
