If you have a problem to connect to FIBS or if messages sent doesn't seem to work, there might be your firewall or built-in firewall in your modem that is causing the problem. Please check out the following page for help to configure them http://www.portforward.com/

There may also be a virus killer that is the problem. Close and uninstall any such program and try to run JavaFIBS again. Sometimes it's not enough just to close them since they may have other threads running anyway.
