FIBS lets you mirror the board and some other programs do as well.  Do avid backgammon players really care which direction they get to move in?

Good players are equally adept at both directions and don't care which way they go.  Being unable to play both directions would be a serious handicap for meat-space tournaments.

Moving checkers is one of the favorites one to play!!!!!!
