It is my first article in FIBS Board backgammon forum, it is a translation taken from my article published in Spanish in my blog http://juegosintelectuales.blogspot.com/

I want to show the difficulties with the doubling cube, the double is a deadly weapon but also is a bummerang, please take care using it, taking into account the state of the match. The following position is extracted from the match capablanca (white) and PHunter (red) for the gold series session #42. I was loosing 4 to 1. He doubled, if I refuse he will be a gammon for the match, White's position is sustainable with an anchor in 24 red with a red checker caught, with a good "timing" I accepted thinking in the redouble later because a match 6 to 1 is almost lost, the equity is approx. 10%.

After a few plays the situation changed, proceeding to redouble, I think that should be taken while he still with the problems of checker trapped.

A few plays later came the inevitable throwing 5-1 he was forced to leave exposed a second checker that was caught, closing my board and winning by gammon and therefore the match. Interesting!

thx for the submission -- interesting. i have copiy/pasted my comments from the other article you have submitted in order to illustrate the restrictions to "articles" as the only means of posting backgammon problems or positions.
i cannot edit this comment once i have 'sent' it
the comments can't be easily seen unless set as open - whereas with posting in the board areas you can use "spoilers"

the articles unless 'advertised' by the admin which i am trying to do - eg here and in shouts, do not get 'seen' by everyone, whereas the posts on the boards are quickly found in recent posts (top right front page) in recent topics, and in unread posts.

take a look at the backgammon problems board address below

thx again and a good article..cheers

herewith copy/paste from your other article.....

thx for the article but could you perhaps replace the board images with a board that shows the numbers and score - if you look at the fibsboard match boards you will see what can be achieved with often less than 20 kb. the numbers will help readers understand the article better.

i have removed all the style and microsoft html and css which isn't needed when submitting articles - and indeed calls to href="file:///D:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CLUISSA%7E1%5CCONFIG%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml">

but an interesting choice = thx for sharing --- take a look at the backgammon problems in board http://www.fibsboard.com/backgammon-problems-b55.0/  where you might find it better to post some problem positions. the sticky topics at the top explain ways to post with diagrams.

the article format is fine -- just be sure to paste straight text not googleblog code or similiar as i think it bungs up our works here! you can check the html of an article by clicking the green  button in the bottom right of the various editing tools which appear at the top of the article submission area

many thx again

yes now i have checked 'automatically open this comment box" and the comments can be seen with the article - so be sure to do this when submitting articles -- there are other things too which seem to have to be done by admin to get these articles working right--- and of course they need approving, whilst posts are done by you and can be edited for a time after posting too. they appear ready approved as we moderation takesd place because they are easily found...

in short this is a forum and works best with the post/reply topics -- by all means submit articles especially where you want to put in a series of images and positions, or a collection of positions to illustrate a theme.

any other comments?

thx again........
