I try to read all about this story and I can't be sure of the truth.
Not easy to say if there really were bad intentions or a real confusion.

I dont think we will ever know the truth .
I run live tournements and if something is lost you give it to the TD or leave it with the people at the venue. you dont put a 1,000 dollor gammon board in the trunk of a car and wait for a call after 10 day's.

One reason, but not the first reason, why i log on to this site is to see how all this soaps are going on.
They make it easier to think about real problems and make me wonder how much people involve their real life into fibs  :(
(sorry for my poor english)

hiya all

im over this now and its all so boring and riduculous! if you want the truth then look in mrbonds post or mine!

or just believe what diane says. simple

we never stole a board and mike, owner of board was given my number to call me on.......
now im sorry if i didn't call him but i am not  going to worry about a
board going back if That person is going to CALL ME and i have more important things going on in my life.
if he and diane was so worried then why didin't they call me.....why didn't diane give mike my number. why didn't she ask me!
why wasn't the police called!
why didn't they email me!
so its not my problem.... if someone i knew had my board and i knew it was with them then i wouldn't worry about it!

why is it that a few days after mike contacts and gets board back me all this crap happens?

my gogogiz nick and my other nick are hacked and someone goes online from parlorplay to hide ip and pose as me!
this imposter goes in the shouts and is having conversations with diane regarding the board...talking rubbish...as nothing was true.

the person logged in with my nick and changes my vouches to complaints and sends silly messages to people and they also change my fibs password.
an email has been cc'd from parlorplay to the offending ip addressees isp about this.

i have heard about witnesses... so where are they!

so believe what you want to believe, i say, but i know the truth.

thx all and sorry you all had to read all this rubbish on fibs.....what some people will go to to get back at others is beyond me!

thx all

diane

Quotenow im sorry if i didn't call him but i am not going to worry about a
board going back

Still no apology - just me me me  :(
Never give up on the things that make you smile

scardy

What about your apology to gogo for the many shouts of thief, and the smear campaign including emailing all the TD's saying you had proof of this, which was and is a blatant lie? And for bringing this a non fibs event to the fibsboard!!

diane

scardy

You are correct there diane,i posted 1st( i meant to say, to the attention of fibs)i

would not have got involved at all in this if it was nt for the way in which you

shouted thief many many times and got him banned by kari (who, must have

believed you had proof),I know you to be a friend of madmikes, and have had

your arguements with gogo before, but it was the way in which you went on and

on about him in shouts to discredit him (without any proof)This was just callous

calculated and wrong.

Has Don weighed in with his opinion on this matter yet ?

I laughed when I heard of the FIBS "gang".  I wasn't even mentioned!  I spent most of the time watching gogo, mrbond, and scardy.  No, I didn't do anything illegal in the US or England, and I didn't see anyone else do it.  I met diane briefly, and seems to be a nice gal.  It's too bad this went way out of proportion.  It was a fun weekend in England though!  Thanks for everyone that made it special!  I think everyone may be overreacting just a tad.  Although it makes for interesting talk when I talk to gogogiz on the phone!  Sorry this went to FIBS.  It really shouldn't have.  I'm at least glad to know such fine friends as gogogiz, mrbond, and scardy (and my zdoc).  It was also nice to meet you too, diane.  I hope things can be mended.

Hi Folks,

the whole story doesn't make too much sense to me... if I was to steal a board, I'd go to a place where nobody knows me (that is NOT my home town), wear sunglasses, behave as unconspicuous as I could possibly manage and disappear without first discussing it at length with the guy who's board I have. Thus, considering all the circumstance, I'd say that the reported incident was no attempt to steal a board.

What I understand is that Mad Mike is sensitive about his board. There's surely more about such a board than the money, but then, it's the money, too. I wouldn't let anybody play on my board except good friends, and make clear that they have full reponsibility for it until they return it into my possession. Too easily, a glass of beer is spilled -- or a joint dropped, for that matter. Thus if Mike leaves his board alone, it's partly his own fault in my opinion.

I have met gogogiz and the rest of the gang in London at the FIBS gathering and found them entertaining and funny. They may be flaky, they probably like to drink and apparently to smoke, and they are not exactly the bookkeeping type of guys who remember everthing that happend with a timestamp, get up at 6 in the morning or answer every phone call as soon as possible (and Mike had gotten the number wrong anyway). I also think that they do not always show their sunday school manners and may or may not consider other people's feelings more than their own. I can also imagine that they weren't aware of the exact value of the board at all.

I can't see any bad intention, but at most some flakiness, and just think that from Mike's perspective (who's a good organizer and is used to get his sh*t together) it *looked* like somebody didn't want to give it back. Pity that it got so personal.

Just my 2 cents.

What a load of complete bollox.

The biggest laugh is that MMM allows the druggies back into the tourney!!

His ethics must be so high...like most of those playing. Talk about spitting your dummy out. If the Ã,£600 backgammon board was so bleeding precious to the poor soul then whay take it to a pub game and why not get it insured?

My heart really goes out to those poor souls who whinge and whine, tell me MMM do you have a wrist band with your name and address on so that you can remember where you live?

I know five year old's with more moral fibre than the holier than thou  MMM.

Hi Frostie,

you may not know that most West Europeans under 50 have a pretty relaxed attitude towards Marihuana, and that's reflected in the laws. People are usually not persecuted for personal amounts.

As to your other statements:

I'd plead for a more sober attitude in this somewhat delicate discussion. It's not helpful to raise emotions with bold words, in particular if nothing is contributed to the matter. After all, little material damage was done; it's all about emotions.

The facts are the board was returned to its owner, many silly shouts and posts have been made about it (as even Monk admits), and gogo's ID was hacked.

What else is there to say?
So many string dimensions, so little space time...

Bring in real life smug into a virtual world as Fibs.
All who were involved can conclude for their own what this did with their reputation.

For me they are still just normal fibs players. Not more, Not less.

As near as I can tell from everything I've read on this thread and others, the only harm done has been due to the illicit use of gogo's ID(s).  The board was misplaced, many flames were made with no foundation, the board was returned,

...

but

...

someone hacked gogo's FIBS ID(s) and abused gogo AND FIBS in the process.
