roadkillbooks (white), double?
The fascist's feelings of insecurity run so deep that he desperately needs a classification of some things as successful or superior and other things as failed or inferior. This also underlies the fascist's embracement of concepts like mental illness and IQ tests.  - R.J.V.

I would suggest that the formum members remain silent until roadkillbooks has made his decision.  If we start discussing whether it's a take or not, and we disagree with one another, then he can apply Wooley's law and we've effectively made the decision for him.

Spoiler
Unless, of course, he's on to us and realizes we're just arguing in order to trick him into doubling. So let's make sure he doesn't catch on, ok?

If we talk about cube expectations in a comment for the move prior to a cube decision then that's fair game but the assumption is surely that the forum opponent nevers looks inside any spoilers in their own move/cube threads until they've committed to their decision. They'd therefore have no idea what we are saying.

I think it's okay to discuss it, as long as we use the spoiler buttons, same for pending checker play decisions by rkb. I'll trust the player not to look what's there before deciding.

Spoiler
Big take, and it seems unnecessary to double this as volatility is low. Most of the time, rkb either gets a better doubling opportunity next move, or if he rolls unlucky or we roll lucky, he's happy he didn't cube.

Totally agree, and anyway, I think we completely succeeded in leading Factotum up the garden path with our cubing conversations last time

Spoiler
I would cube this out, [that is, expecting my opponent to drop] which probably explains why I am not rated as highly as some of the others involved in this conversation

NO DOUBLE
Spoiler
I think that last exchange was about the same so not that much has changed. So if I didn't double before,  I don't want to know.  Although I could have whims that change my perspective.  My main deterrent from doubling is that this position does not yet seem that volatile..except for the forum's looming 5-5 and even then Ill be in good shape to be holding the forum. I may as well wait for a 5 something to double...or a break to put forum on the spot for a high volatility situation.

Spoiler
Looks like a close double to me.  Our board is about to crunch, and he has the ability to run with lots of numbers. If he successfully runs his backmen, it'll be a pass, so double now.  Also looks like a  take.

roadkillbooks (white), 5-4 to play, diagram in first post

Spoiler
20/15, 5/1 This almost seems forced.  I can run with one piece but then i cant really hit loose. This play tuens 6/5 into a joker for forum but if I run there is the 5/2 joker as well.  Rather cover the blot on my one point. That goes with the saying that after you slot your one point you should make it at the next feasible opportunity.  A lot riding on this next roll by forum.
Moving up two pieces to my one is weak as burying checkers slmost always is. Moving the 5 off my day point with either 10/1 or 10/5, 10/6 would ust be horrible as the prime is most all of what I have gong for me.  This is also why I like making the one point becasue eventually and probally soon I'm going to have to go from prime to close out.

Spoiler

It would have been better, with the 3-1, to have left a guard in the outer table and better, with the 64, to have made the ace point, so this roll is the perfect opportunity to put both those birds in the bush, one with each stone (as the saying goes).

20/15, 5/1

And indeed, the old while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post occurred, allowing me to see that roadkillbooks views it that way too.
