Oh and since gogo can't get high while driving, or playing backgammon, 50% of FIBS players are automatically banned by ME!

Dear Mike,

In response to your email, allow me to point out a few issues that has been conveniently omitted, whilst your mind is clouded over by your missing backgammon board, or misinformation fed to you by well intentioned people who have no clue. After-all Mike, there are enough rumours circulating about, without you having to add to it with your unfounded and ridiculous statements.

Point No.1: Quote: "kambiz was one of those players and asked if he could use my David Naylor Board. I said he could". At no stage in the tournament did I use your board, and on the occasion I did request for a board, I was asked to take one from a small pile situated near the projector. I played my match with ozgit on a tiny black leather board with green and red surface. My only game on a Naylor board was with Uldis, which I believe belonged to him.

Point No. 2: "Fibsters Gang" missing. You have run enough tournaments to appreciate that not all players finish their games at the same time. Only myself and gogogiz and Alex (scardy) were from this supposed "unruly" gang. I can tell you for a fact Mike that I was downstairs playing my game with ozgit, furthermore, I know that gogogiz, had been waiting upstairs for his opponent as he hadnot finished his game. I am aware of him being outside later, as you asked me if I had seen him as I came out of the toilets. Alex (scardy) was also playing against his opponent upstairs at the time. Other players that I had invited, do not play on fibs, and had come to the game because of the love of it. So tell me exactly Mike, who the hell was outside "behind the bicycle shed".

Point No. 3: A stoned kambiz was there with a board and stoned gogogiz was there too. There you go Mike making false accusations, it must have been one heck of a joint to have had so many people "stoned" out of their heads, specially as I didn't even part-take.

Point No. 4: "What I didnââ,¬â,,¢t realise then was that kambiz had put my board into the boot of gogogizââ,¬â,,¢s car instead of into a cab." No Mike you didn't realise that at all, did you? The fact is I told you that I had taken the care to pack the board away and bring it downstairs with me, when it was left upstairs in an empty pub. The fact is Mike, I honestly didnot realise that I had put it inadvertently in the boot of gogogiz's car, as I was carrying 2 boards with me. Both of similar size and colouring. You perhaps know the other board as well, as you had sold it to gogogiz at a previous gathering.

Point No. 5: I got no reply from Eric. I can't say I was overly surprised by that. For your information Eric is away in America and may have not had the opportunity to look at his emails.

Point No. 6: On the Tuesday I put a notice up on my website letting all know that a board was missing. Tell me Mike, was it not on Tuesday I called you up with regard to your board? The first time I was made aware of the disappearance of your board was from the website and I contacted you straight away. That makes it in 3 days after the event. So get off your high horse for a moment and stop brandishing 10-12 days as the time for the recovery of your board. During this time I kept you fully informed and gave you both my telephone number and gogogiz's number too. Furthermore Mike, a digit was not wrong, but you failed to take down the number correctly by missing the last digit yourself. You had my number to call me, also numerous messages, that if I can be of any further help to let me know. It begs the question as to why you didn't call me back to confirm the phone again. How hard were you really trying to recover your board Mike???? When did you actually speak with gogogiz? He was not aware that your board was in his boot, and when I had spoken with him, my instructions to him were to check to make sure that I hadn't by mistake put both boards in the back of his car. And believe it or not Mike there are certain things more important to someone whose grandfather is dying than a frigging poxy backgammon board!! Do you understand??

Point No. 7: Next he had the audacity to ask me if there was a reward for the return of the missing board. A "thank you" wouldn't have gone a miss either. If somebody had rescued my precious bg board, I certainly would have offered them a reward. But you are so obviously blinkered by what you have been told that you can not see good from evil.

My intentions were honourable as I had packed the board away for safety reasons and my conscious is clear as I did all I could to help with the recovery of your board. At no time was your board intentionally removed, and gogogiz knew nothing of it until I had contacted him to ask him to check his boot.

Point No. 7: kambiz has spoken to me since my board has been recovered because he was fearful that I was going to take punitive action against him! Firstly, "fear" doesnot come into my vocabulary Mike. I am not that shallow to be concerned about bloody backgammon tournaments my friend. You further contradict yourself here by saying I called you because of any reprisal by yourself. You know that was not the case for my call Mike, but to see if you were going to actually say "thank you kambiz" and to clarify what you had said to me a few days earlier. By your admission you say you hadnot considered taking any action at the time, so why the hell would I be calling you in fear of any punitive action!!

Clearly no gratitude is forthcoming from you and I am confused by your inability to look at the facts as they are, without the influence of a scheming Diane feeding you information that is far from the truth. Do tread very carefully my friend if you want to brandish defamatory statements about myself and other people.

Final point to make here Mike, is that I suggest you post my reply to all other people who have received this ill-thought out of a public statement from you.
Thank you.
That will be shaken, not, stirred!

I have no comment to make on the motives of mrbond or gogogiz, but some of the undisputed facts are interesting. Mrbond (aka kambiz) saw the board on the table. Mike says that he had asked to use the board earlier, but mrbond denies this. Anyway, he was, he says, concerned for the board's safety, so he asked several people standing about if they owned it. None of these has yet come forward. He didn't ask diane, who he says was standing there, nor did he ask Mike, then or later when he had taken the board downstairs. In order to safeguard this board, he took the board downstairs, put it in the boot of his friend's car (without telling him) and then instantly forgot about it! What happened to the concern for a valuable piece of property that had inspired him to take it into his safe keeping in the first place? What might a neutral observer make of this? Mrbond tells us that gogo also has a board like this and that he may have become confused, but there are no other boards even remotely like Naylor boards and besides, mrbond says that he was carrying gogo's board as well. He can't confuse one board for the other when he is carrying both of them!
Any reasonable person on finding lost property at a tournament takes it to the tournament director and gives it to him. Mike was there, putting people into taxis. Mrbond didn't do this, he put it into his friend's car and only later remembered that he might possibly have done this, once he learned that the search was on for the board. Having placed himself in this somewhat ambivalent position, Mrbond should not be surprised if people respond to his story with cries of "Pull the other one squire!"

I believe he said the boards were of the same size, not "like".  I am assuming the boards were tournament regulation size, if there is such a thing.  Also, there was some confusion as to whether gogogiz was going to the boat or not.   Certainly, the drinking and/or drug use that day added to the confusion and judgement from  all concerned.

None the less, the whereabouts of the board was reported, found, and returned.  That should have been the end of it IMHO.

While it may be entertaining, conjecture only adds to the confusion.  I'd like to hear from anyone who is an actual eyewitness who has anything more to add.

I'm afaraid Nihilist you are absolutely right, it does reads like a poor novel but what is more sickening is that its a  frigging joke this episode, stirred by "supposed" do gooding idiots. I have spoken with Mike at length today and I am discussing the matter with my solicitors.

I can fully appreciate his anxioty regarding his misplaced board,  but when he starts running off his mouth on issues unrelated to the events, then I take things personnally.

And gogogiz, you should know diane wouldn't agree to a coffee, she loves her booze far too much. Perhaps an invite for an alcoholoic drink would have persuaded her otherwise...... but then again, because she loves her drink that doesn't make her a bad person though. Not as evil as the "noble" weed!!

One of the main things missing in this confusing miasma of hate is "dorbel's thread", referred to by diane, for more information?  I can't find it.

I think it's time to put an end to this thread.  The board was returned, nobody has provided any proof of any crimes, and many wild stories have been flamed both here and on FIBS.  I think there was a rumor-mill-filled overreaction.  The only fact seems to be that gogo's password was hacked.  It seems now that those who made accusations may have gone too far in their statements about individuals and groups, and others piled on for the vicarious fun of it.
